How the deductions work
Kerala lottery agents deduct their commission first, then 30% TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) applies to the remainder of prizes above ₹10,000, under Section 194B of the Income Tax Act. Health & Education Cess and any surcharge are generally assessed separately when you file your return, rather than deducted at source.
